In Rakhine State’s Sittwe city, an art exhibition of forty Rakhine painters is being held under the name “Mizzima Door Art Exhibition” beginning this morning, December 24.
The exhibition will be held for three days from December 24th to 26th at Khine Thazin hall in Sittwe.
“In order to help the children get familiar with painting. To hold more exhibitions from this on. To open a painting school in Rakhine – that’s the purpose”, said painter Rekkha from Toungup.
In the exhibition was displayed over 150 pieces of paintings by Tin Win (Kankaw village), Tun Kyaw, Saw Tin Maung, Soe Htay, Min Zaw Oo, Kyaw Zaw Maung, Tun Win (Guava – Malakathi), Phone Naing, Lin Man Aung, Nyo Thein Oo, Myint Naing, Lu Nyein Khine, Hlapa (Min Naing), Aung Si Nay Myo, Nyi Pu Chae, Myint Wai, San Naing, Maung Maung Saw, Kyaw Nyein, Khin Aung Khant, Than Kyaw Htay, Shwe Thein, Maung Khine Mar, Ambon Kyaw, Zwe Yan Naing, Kaung Kyaw Khine, Min Thurein, Rekkha, Aung Naing, Tin Zaw Win, Min Yan Naing, Min Wine, Kyaw Kyaw Tun, Aung Lin Tun, Zarni tun, Yan Naing Htwe, Thura Kyaw, Tun Sein, Hnin Thiri and Ye Yint Myint Naing.
“All these paintings are truly masterpieces and they all give a full taste of Rakhine atmosphere. I’ve watched and seen an art exhibition like this only now”, said one who went to the exhibition to MPA.
The paintings are about the views, sceneries and natural beauties of Rakhine in different paintings and the prices were from 200,000 Kyats up to 3,500 US Dollars. Some were sold today, on the opening day.
The art exhibition was visited and purchased by students and enthusiasts including some foreigners in Sittwe.
