On the day of Christmas on December 25, the IDPs had to run to safety as the terrorist military fired large weapons during Lay Kay Kaw Myothit’s Hteemaewakhee clash in Myawaddy district’s Karen State.

The clashes today were highly intense; there were some killed, injured and many have called it a bloody Christmas.

Among the escapers were the elderly, children and women.

The children could forget the terror of the entire day and to give them some happiness for a while, Christmas was celebrated at one IDP camp by sharing dolls and opening presents.
